Search Committee narrows field for next NPH president

Following the announcement of Nazarene Publishing House President Hardy Weathers' impending retirement at the end of November, a search committee was formed to find a replacement.

The search committee was created in accordance with the Church of the Nazarene Manual (¶335.20) and General Board provisions.

The early work of the committee generated an initial list of 30 names for consideration. That list was reduced to 15. Those individuals were contacted to see if they had an interest in being considered for the position. Seven individuals indicated an interest. 

After additional review of those seven, NPH Board Chair John Bowling said the Search Committee selected four candidates to submit to the Nominating Committee for further consideration. The Nominating Committee will review these recommendations, seek additional references, and conduct individual interviews. The Nominating Committee will then recommend two names for possible election as president of Nazarene Publishing House.

"Ideally, the next president will be elected prior to the retirement of Dr. Weathers," Bowling said in July, while noting the timing will help with a seamless transition. "The process is moving forward smoothly and with much prayer and careful thought."
