The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who have recently gone home to be with the Lord. Notices were received July 9-13, 2012.
Raymond B. Acheson, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on July 10. He was a retired minister, serving in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Texas, and Florida. He served as Pittsburgh district superintendent from 1957-1964. He is survived by his wife, Edna M. Acheson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Acheson Munos, who passed away in the Haiti 2010 earthquake.
Chloe (Bellamy) Baker, 81, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on June 24. She was the wife of retired minister and evangelist Everett I. Baker, who served in Ohio, Kansas, Oregon, Arizona.
Delma J. (Leidig) Howland, 95, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on June 30. She was the widow of retired minister Ernest W. Howland, who served in Oklahoma and Nebraska. Ernest W. Howland passed away in 2001.
Marion G. (Kinney) Booth Nikkel, 91, of Redding, California, passed away on July 1. She was the widow of Richard J. Nikkel, who served in California and Washington. Richard J. Nikkel passed away in 2008.
Harold Ratliff, 86, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, passed away on June 25. He was a minister, serving in Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Jean R. Ratcliff.
Merna M. (Blowers) Skinner, 78, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on July 4. She was a retired missionary, serving in Papua New Guinea, and an employee at the Church of the Nazarene's International Headquarters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R. Skinner, who passed away in March.
Jannave "Jan" (Armstrong) Viars, 89, of Holiday, Florida, passed away on June 17. She was the wife of retired minister, evangelist, and educator V. Dale Viars, Sr., who served in Tennessee, Florida, and Texas.
