MVNU seeks new president

Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Presidential Search Committee, under the direction of the MVNU Board of Trustees, has completed the development of a Presidential Profile. A nomination and application process is now open through August 15, 2012, as MVNU seeks its seventh president. 

Established in 1968, Mount Vernon Nazarene University is an intentionally Christian teaching university that offers a liberal arts education leading to associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degrees in more than eighty academic pursuits. Whether on the beautiful  400-acre main campus in Mount Vernon, Ohio, at one of several additional Graduate and Professional Studies locations throughout the state, or online, MVNU offers specific programming for traditional undergraduate students, graduate students, and working adults. MVNU places great emphasis on developing the whole individual—academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, and offers an affordable education to more than 2,600 students from 26 states and seven countries and U.S. territories.

As the institutional, academic, and spiritual leader of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, the next president will:

• Exhibit a life entirely devoted to Jesus Christ with a personal witness of God’s saving and sanctifying graces.
• Demonstrate an ability to conceptualize, articulate, and implement a clear vision for the University, and carry a strong record of executive accomplishments and achievements.
• Possess advanced academic credentials with prior experience in academic leadership and a firm commitment to Christian liberal arts higher education.
• Be a gifted communicator with the demonstrated qualities and characteristics to serve as an effective fundraiser.
• Display a collaborative leadership style with the ability to develop an effective partnership with the University’s Board of Trustees and recruit, develop, retain and resource highly effective University leaders.
