WEF PLUS Offering: Thank you for giving

WEF PLUS offerings continue to arrive daily at the Global Ministry Center from local churches around the world. Established as a special offering above regular giving for the World Evangelism Fund (WEF), the preliminary reports show total amounts are tracking well ahead of Thanksgiving offerings in recent years.
The Board of General Superintendents proposed the WEF PLUS offering in early 2010, challenging Nazarenes around the world to give the largest Thanksgiving/Harvest offering in the history of the Church of the Nazarene. Multiple world areas recognize a thanksgiving holiday or period, and Nazarenes in these nations have given to the annual Thanksgiving offering for many years. Special offerings for World Evangelism Fund are given annually in other parts of the world to recognize harvest season and in yet other areas in conjunction with Advent. Together in 2010, as a global family, the Church of the Nazarene has been participating in WEF PLUS through October, November, and December.
A period of global economic recession coupled with an adjustment to the previous WEF formula for local churches has resulted in a loss of WEF income. The additional funds generated through WEF PLUS are vital to sustaining the highly effective missional outreach of the Church of the Nazarene around the world. With funds continuing to come in, further updates on the WEF PLUS Offering will be provided.
The Board of General Superintendents is deeply grateful to Nazarene churches and individuals for their faithfulness in giving and for joining together in prayer for this much needed generous response.
